To those on or planning an Ocean City vacation; I grew up in O.C. I loved the crowded beach and boardwalk, riding up coastal highway with windows down and music up. Fishing the Oceanic pier and 50 bridge shoulder to shoulder. Living the beach life. But I also like fishing and clamming in serene settings, observing marine mammals and sealife undisturbed and relaxed, of views and skylines unchanged from nature. In the time it takes to drive from the 50 bridge to north O.C. in July you too can enjoy the unhurried natural setting of Chincoteague Bay. A cold hesitant start to flounder season has warmed considerably this week, even if the weather hasn't. Most trips returning to dock with meat in the cooler, and things should continue to heat up. If a flounder dinner is on your mind, now to mid-June is the time to book that trip! Aloha, Capt. T.

Flounder season officially got underway this week with numerous catches around the area. We had six bites with three fish landed on Saturday, before being blown out on our Sunday trip. Flounder season should run from now to mid June. If the delicious flatfish is what you seek, now is the time to book that trip.

Officially opening spring season effective now! Large Hickory and American Shad are pouring into delmarva. Right behind them will be flounder, stripers, and bluefish. Temperatures in the 70's by next weekend will warm waters quickly. I have openings the next few weekends before summer gets rolling. Lets get out there and get some!

Summer seems so far away in late January. Then the phone rings and suddenly the last week of May is being booked. By planning ahead and booking now, you give the captain plenty of time to do his homework with your trip in mind. On bad weather advance bookings take priority on re-schedule, and if weather is spectacular you'll rest easy with reservation in place instead of last minute scramble for whatever is available.
