Fresh Captain Tim's Chincoteague Bay Adventures Fishing Reports
November Flounder
November 6, 2023
Mild weather continues to hold as we move into mid-November, keeping water temps up and the flounder biting. Patience is a must as the fish are picky and conditions (tide and temp) have to be just right to turn the fish on. As long as the weather stays mild, there should be some fish around. We will be in Erie PA. for Steelhead 11/13 through 11/15 if anyone is interested in giving these marvels of Lake Erie a try. See you out there, Aloha!

Fall Finally Falling!
October 30, 2023
After an exceptionally warm autumn the cold winds from the north have worked their way down here. What had been a hot flounder bite fizzled as the fish spread back out in warming waters. Hopefully the frost/freeze cycle promised in the coming days will concentrate and re-appetize the fish. Winds will abate towards the weekend and we'll get back to work on them. Steelhead trip to Erie scheduled for 2nd week of November if anyone wants to play. Aloha

Indian Summer Flounder!
October 25, 2023
The only thing better than the spectacular fall weather right now is the on fire flounder fishing. Not a widespread run of flounder but have found a sizeable pocket of plump keepers. Plan to keep hitting them until the thread runs out. On the Steelhead front I plan to be in Erie PA. this Monday and Tuesday. If you'd like to join me for a half day you'll need waders, PA license/trout stamp/ Erie endorsement, and clothing appropriate for chilly and wet. Feel free to send me a message through this platform if you want to come along. See you out there, Capt. Tim

Legends of the Fall
October 17, 2023
The Salmon have run, the mid -Atlantic winds have begun to blow, time for hungry beefy Great Lakes Steelhead. We fished Erie PA. Tributaries earlier this week. The Steelies have begun to stack at the creek mouths awaiting the cold November rains to raise the creek levels allowing the fish to run up and spawn. Found the most effective method on this trip to be casting spoons in the surf. Jolting strikes followed by sizzling runs interspersed with acrobatic leaps made for a daylong angler's dream. We will return to the Erie area the 5th of November for some more fun and adventure. If you'd like to participate send a inquiry through this platform or reach out to me at Chincoteague Bay Adventures on F.B. See you on the Tribs, Aloha

Sweltering Salmon Run!
September 27, 2023
On of the reasons for fishing the New York Salmon run is an early taste of frosty fall air, but not this year. As midday temps brushed against 90, the issue became not how to keep our hands warm at daybreak, but what to do with all these mosquitoes. Still, the fish came. With plenty of hookups and some real bulls to hand, this year's run was solid, yet leaving us looking forward to next year. Back to flounder! Aloha

Trout and Salmon time!
September 24, 2023
So Tropical Storm Ophelia has parked offshore and promises to be drizzly and windy for the foreseeable future. Time to hit the road, destination: Great Lakes! We'll be wading for King Salmon on Lake Ontario next week, with some early season prospecting for Steelhead en route to Salmon River. If you'd like to try your luck on these magnificent fish, reach out to me. I can help shorten the learning curve, and we'll fish side by side, an advantage in some of the crowded conditions. These are popular and highly sought fish. Note: we fish the catch and release fly only section much less crowded and aggressive. You will need a fishing license and CLEATED waders.
