The billfish can be spotty (peak sailfish and marlin season is Jan-April) but there is plenty of opportunity for other fish, like tuna. A 3/4 or full day trip will give a better chance of catching fish given different species are found at different distances from shore.

Fishing was tough this day! If the fish are not biting sit back and take in the beautiful views of the mountains diving into the sea around you, watch for sea life around and keep an open mind, it is fishing and nothing is guaranteed!

Gitana Fishing
Roosterfishing as a whole is not what I expected. It is slow trolling live bait that mostly only the roosterfish eats so there is not much else to catch. If the Rooster's do not bite you are not doing much. I enjoyed the experience and got to mark off a bucket list fish!

Sport fishing is not like loading a bucket full of bream off the back dock. It's hard work and sometimes you have to really run and work for them. But they got the fish and the right guide can put you on them. I would come back in June again in a heartbeat.
You don't have to be on a million dollar, 60' sportfisher. But you do need a boat that's up to the task and a crew who knows how to catch fish. Find the right guys and you will have a lot of fun.

Hey anglers, please let your charter and captain know what you looking forward to catching so they are aware. Be patient my morning was slow we left at 7am and by 12:30 1pm we were smacking them. Definitely recommend Snook fishing charter and Captain Jorge and Enrique. Pura Vida!

Bring adequate clothes for the sun, sunblock and just keep in contact with the captain for the weather don't really rely on your weather app too much before coming. It said thunderstorms all week, all day, but the weather was beautiful the whole time trip…except late evenings but it stops after some time.
