Look for birds fishing and have the captain drive through. We would get 2-3 poles go off everytime. Any floating debris brought action.

Our Capt put us on fish, this is a lower season for fishing but our Capt was amazing and we had a ton of tuna to take home!

We caught fish because of the experience of the crew. Other boats were not having any luck on this day and no boats communicated with had caught any Tuna or Mahi. We were hoping to catch one or two of those to bring home but are grateful that we had a very productive day. It depends on the day, some days catches are abundant, others are not. That's just fishing. We had great weather. It is the start of the rainy season so you can run into a lot of rain at this time of year. We had a great day.

I can't really compare fishing in Herradura in April to fishing in other areas of Costa Rica in April, or to Costa Rica fishing during other times of the year. But we had a great half-day and enjoyed our time on the boat.

we were a little concerned the day before when we realized we get to our boat from the beach via water taxi! Dont be concerned it is well run and professional— just the way it gets done.

If you are fishing out of Herradura, I can't recommend the Dream Maker boat and crew enough. The entire experience from booking through to the days fishing was top draw.

Los Sueños Marina Fishing – 36' Cabo Express
This Captain sends a water taxi to pick you up on the beach. We stayed at the Marriott, walked 3 minutes from our room to the beach, and were picked up at 6:00 am by the water taxi. Unbelievably convenient!

7am halfday trip started out slow, but ended up catching 5 mahi mahi by the end. We also caught a couple of smaller fish that we threw back.
