Avoid a cold snap if possible. If it's cold aim for the afternoon verses the morning. We spent more time in the backwaters due to rougher waters and high winds. Fishing was better on the gulf if you can handle the waters. A lot of dolphins scared off our fish but they were fun to watch.

I reserve 5 star for those nearly once in a lifetime events. 4 is great and that what this trip was. We had a rough outlook, a pre-trip injury with one of my boys, the other being on the younger side for a charter trip and Capt. Jon made sure we were taken care of and were on fish. If you are looking for a trip out of Bonita you aren’t going wrong here.

Patience is key, saltwater fish are certainly tighter-lipped than a lot of freshwater species. If you know where to go and what bait works (shrimp are great for snapper, catfish, and trout), you will have a busy day on the water!

Just take your time be patient and you will get a lot of fish especially around the man Cove areas some days are good and some days are OK. What a great place to fish.

Great weather but it gets extremely hot out, which is expected for mid summer in Florida. The water was nice and flat and not rough which makes it easier to fish too.
