Headwaters Lake & Fellsmere Reservoir
My son regularly fishes tournaments and says live bait is cheating. Well..after absolutely hammering some good fish he decided shiners are fun and ok when not fishing a tournament. We still fished artificial but didnโt catch nearly as many as on the shiners. Guaranteed fish get some shiners. Not cheap but a whole lot of fun.

Bass is catch and release at this time at headwaters lake, but the fishing and catching was fun. If you know that going in, and don't have your heart set on bringing home dinner, this is the place to book.

This was our first time on Fellsmere, and glad we chose to go with a guide. Very shallow in areas and only certain places you can run. Our guide, Fish Hand Guide Service, knew the lake very well.

The best bass trip I've ever had in Florida.
One trip to Deland on Lake Woodruff was very good, but Fellsmere is "the Bomb".
(As a senior citizen, I understand that something very good is called the bomb.)
Have been to Palatka a couple of times to watch the pro's fish.
In 2019, Rick Clunn won the tournament. He is now 75, so don't give up!

We hoped to get some action on top water bite but fish werenโt interested. Take your wife and kids and learn how to fish with live wild shiners. So cool watching shiners react to bass before the bite. Lots of action.
