It took a little while to find the fish. I'm here the week of August 10. Capt. Andrew said the peak season is late June through July, so I'm a little off peak, but the fish were BIG.

Striper fishing can be more tiring, especially if jigging. When you hook a fish youll have to reel in 100 yards of line to land the fish. Its a workout. And NO bananas on board.

Bring plenty of sunblock and water -- more water than you think you'll need. Wide-brimmed hat and long sleeves are also a good idea. There's not much shade on the Janine B, so you'll want to stay hydrated on a summer day.
The crew make the fishing part easy! Great directions and great assistance.

2. The early morning times are much cooler
3. The bay is not bad if you experience motion sickness. If you are still worried be sure to take the medicine (ex. Dramamine-Less Drowsy) at least the night before and morning of. Do not wait until right before your trip in the morning. It needs time to work in your system.

Fishing in Dennis is really fun and approachable. The water is relatively calm and there are lots of big stripers in the bay. I highly recommend it for first-time anglers or more hard-core fisherman.

Dress warmly! Even though it's summer, the wind off the water can make the trip out to the grounds super chilly. Wear pants and layer up if you go in the morning!

Be patient. Enjoy the moment. Be ready to throw them back in because you can't keep them unless they're a certain size. We were sad that we couldn't keep any of the bass. Our grill was READY!! LOL

Booking with Captain Wayne in Dennis was great. He and his first mate were very friendly and gave us easy to understand directions to catch fish. And we did – lots of great striped bass in the boat! Great location – and great opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy the Cape!

Bring snacks, sunscreen & sunglasses and maybe do some arm workouts beforehand. The fish don't mess around and are sometimes tough to reel in if they want to put up a good fight, which they usually do.
