Booking with Captain Wayne in Dennis was great. He and his first mate were very friendly and gave us easy to understand directions to catch fish. And we did – lots of great striped bass in the boat! Great location – and great opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy the Cape!

Allyson Marcotullio
Bring snacks, sunscreen & sunglasses and maybe do some arm workouts beforehand. The fish don't mess around and are sometimes tough to reel in if they want to put up a good fight, which they usually do.

Nick Petty
Ocean can be a little rough in the morning. When sun comes out sea gets calmer. If you get sick take motion sickness medicine as early as you can to get in your system. Listen to your captain he is very knowledgeable and tries hard to help you catch fish.

For first-timers anywhere (never have gone fishing before, or on a boat), let the captain know what you’re looking for and set expectations and let him guide you. For those with experience but first-timers in Dennis, same as above. I imagine they all grew up there so let them take you fishing the way they go fishing. To all, it’s fishing and not fish-catching.

Although the weather beat us up quite a bit the fishing was worth it! Captain John was very professional and knowledgeable. He put our safety and comfort as priority. The Kate Jim was patient as well as knowledgeable for this first time striper angler. I had a ball fishing with these guys! You will too if you book with the Grey Dolphin Sportsfishing Charter. The marina was easily located and there was ample parking.

Kenneth DeCambra
Captain John of the Grey Dolphin found the fish, in all different sizes and categories, while other boats were giving up on the area that we were in. His knowledge on the type of lures, and location, provided us with an enjoyable experience throughout the whole trip. I’ve charted his boat on two occasions, and have been extremely satisfied on each trip.

It was an unusually warm week and the water temp increased about 10 degrees. The stripers literally disappeared. Our captain warned us of that before we left (very honest guy) but we decided to go anyway and enjoy the weather and take our chances fishing. Usually, Strippers and Blues are popular in October and November but not in that warm water. We still had a great trip.

Definitely go with St. Pete charters and pay attention to the gear list and directions with regard to sun screen etc. This will make things much more fun for you. Captain Doug will ensure you have a great time!!!

If you go for Stripers go in June or maybe beginning of July although we did catch four keepers there was alot of dead time not catching any fish. But Wayne really did a great effort trying to find fish

Capt Bob and Jared were terrific. I caught an amazing striper...made my day! My 15yr old son was with me too, he had a blast! Fishing cape cod bay is a beautiful spot. Lots to do in town of Dennis (beautiful beaches too) before or after the charter...spend the whole day in that part of the cape!

Fishing in July was great for Stripers. The blue fish were late this year. If your looking to end the day fishing for fluke, go earlier in the year

Diane Todd
Stripers still a plenty.
We caught many keepers as well as some >36” monsters- had to throw back, but a fun challenge reeling it in

Heidi Nihill
Water, sunscreen, a hand towel and hand sanitizer. We were so fortunate the Mark had everything we needed!

Larry Keon
Dress in layers. It was cool and overcast in the morning then quite a bit warmer by noon. Nice short run to the fishing hot spots

Peter Dunham
Always bringing home Striper with St. Pete.
Captain Doug knows where to bring you.

Timothy Greene
Could be cool in the morning or evening, bring your sunscreen, have a great day!

Jon Butler
Know that not every day is a great fishing day. Take the entire experience in. Learn knew techniques from your Captain and 1st mate. Enjoy the views, the other nature and soak it all in.

Eric Skoglund
Just make sure you bring a cooler of water and drinks and lots of sunscreen and a hat that’s it. Those are the must have items.

Kevin Guilmartin
Be prepared for a tiring day! These fish are strong and put up a great fight. Tiring but an awesome experience that was totally worth it!

Andre Holligan
If your sports fishing go for it, catch and release big fish this is the place. Absolutely no keeping bigger fish. You will catch them.

Cole Tubbs
Fishing for stripers is fast paced and the top water bite is insanity. Watch the tides and be alert to changing conditions

Cindy Makar
Book with Grey Dolpin! Boat was super clean, Captain and Mate were awesome! We caught a boatload of fish!

Elliott Dawson
If you are planning on fishing early season, make sure to pack appropriately. Cold weather gear will most likely be needed.

My husband and grandson took the trip. I was ill so didn't go. Our grandson enjoyed it. They caught 2 fish that were too small to keep and one that was too large to keep.

Madeleine Gordon
Have always loved fishing in this area, the water is beautiful and we never go home with empty coolers.

Marc Chamberlain
It's windy out there so dress appropriately. Motion sickness prevention could be useful if you have minimal experience on a boat in big water.

James Stewart
Dress for the severe temperature changes, hot to cold and back again. Also be weary about where you are on the boat, as you could get splashed a lot from waves or barely touched.

The fishing was better and in mid June.
But we had a great time fishing on this trip.
We caught around 30-40 fish with only a few keepers over 28 inches

David Miller
Be sure to bring drinks and snacks. Captain Scott takes care of all the fishing needs.

Raymond Edi-Osagie
Ask questions about the ocean, region and equipment; Mark is very knowledgeable.
