Fishing is a day of gambling. Some days you win, others not so much. Today was a mixed day. Mackerel were plenty and fun catching, Striped Bass not so much. Newburyport has many areas to catch that prize fish, with the availability to be there.

We like the 3 hour inshore trip. Normally we pick a late morning slot but I think the best bet might be the earliest morning slots. With an outgoing tide.

Booking with Captain Wayne in Dennis was great. He and his first mate were very friendly and gave us easy to understand directions to catch fish. And we did – lots of great striped bass in the boat! Great location – and great opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy the Cape!
