North Myrtle Beach Fishing Reports

The water was glassy, winds fairly calm. By noon the temperature started to climb so I suggest you head out early to avoid the high heat.

Had a great time. Caught a lot of sea bass unfortunately not large enough to keep.

Short trips can't go out as far. Spending a little more to go on the 1/2 day even the full day trips are better for the more experienced fisherman. Short trips are great for the kids to learn and get used to the boating experience.

To make sure you use motion sickness meds the night before and the morning of.

Spend a complete day fishing and make sure the crew knows the kind of fish you want to go after.

Be honest and upfront with your captain so he can give you the best trip possible

Be open-minded and trust the captain and mate, as they won’t steer you wrong! Great experience!

I would take the full day trip next time for the chance to catch the bigger fish.

Try the charters, like this one! It is a great experience! Lots of fun and you get more personal attention then on bigger boats!

Find out when is the best time to come fish in the area and when is good for what you want to catch. And book a full day instead of half a day so you can go farther out and have better chance of catching more and bigger fish

Check the weather! If you're doing the charter talk with the captain about your time slot. If he's any good he'll tell you how the water is and how the fish are biting. Then have you make the choice.

Go out full day. Half a day ends way before you catch a lot if fish. Had a great time though.

Just book something. Weather is great, guides will put you on fish. Day after day of sun, sand, pool time gets boring. Book a fishing trip for something picture worthy. Facebook needs more fish pics, not more beach pics!!

Was glad I went with Fish Hook. If you get seasick wear a sea band and take a Bonine an hour before. Bring water or soda.

I'd reccomend Fish Hooked III, Captain Richard and first mate Oscar. They were a great combo and worked hard on putting us on the fish. Great experience for me and my family.
