We actually went out of Little River. My wife was a bit hesitant to make the trip, as she became sick many years ago on a boat. Our trip was on Fish Hook II, which was a great size for our group and is a perfect size for a family, including children. The wife did great and was very happy with the trip. Everyone enjoyed the trip. I took a trip with one of my daughter's about 5 years ago. The boat was over crowded, exhaust fumes were bad, and my daughter got sick. I did extra research this time to ensure we didn't have a similar experience. This is how I found Fish Hook II and it was an excellent choice for us. This was the first trip for 3 of our party, and a first time fishing (of any kind) for one. We all had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this boat and the experience to anyone considering a fishing trip.

Keep in mind during this time of year the waters can be murky granted that’s just how Myrtle beach ecosystem is due to the region’s sediment. Also with this being a smaller vessel that holds 6 people if you get sea sick focus on the horizon and stay hydrated. Also keep in mind around this time of year rain can affect fishing conditions too but overall after deep sea fishing Myrtle beach for a long time it’s a pretty solid time of year to go out.

Don’t expect to catch the big boys during summer months while inshore or near shore due to warm water temperatures and sporadic bites. Drink plenty of fluids to enjoy your time out and remember to just have fun!

Make sure you ask how the fishing is beforehand so you know what to expect. Also fish offshore for the bigger catch and be prepared for getting seasick. This was the first time I ever got sick. I fished the Gulf of Mexico for years and never had a problem but I was much younger. I am 71 years old now but still had a good time with captain Cody.

We had had the best experience for our first time fishing in Myrtle Beach. We met Captain Bevan on time, the charter had everything we needed to fish, and Captan Bevan put us in some fun fish. The charter was perfect for us.

Talk to your Captain about what is really biting. Captain Brad, told us to hood off as the bit was not good a few months ago. We listened and he put us on the bite at the right time of the year. Fishing with Captain felt more like a friend versus a customer!!!

Fishing wasn’t bad but after speaking with our Capt, he said that spring and early summer is the best time to really load up the cooler. Def not disappointed and we caught some keepers so I’m happy

The weather as well as the waters are very hot so fishing is nowhere near optimal. Be prepared for a slow start, but once you find their hiding spots you should be in for a great time! Bring plenty of cold drinks and be ready for a little rain, as a stray thunderstorm could pop up at any moment.

Just that it’s different fishing in salt water inlets as opposed to out on the open ocean miles from shore… Be sure to ask which one… different gear different fish it’s just a different experience

If you’ve never booked a charter and you want one of the good ol boys to show you the ropes book with Cody Reinhardt. I recommend take you a couple waters and snacks and have fun. It’s fishing so don’t expect fish that’s something you can’t control just expect to have knowledge shared and a chance. You will have a great time. Especially the kids.

Make for sure they are going to try to catch the kind of fish that you want not just riding around in circles catching a few little fish for hours and then finally go and let you catch a small shark then it's time to leave

If this is your first time fishing, make sure and wear shoes that you do not care to get wet. Make sure to take sunscreen. We took a small cooler with some drinks and snacks. I always get carsick and I wound up taking a Dramamine before the trip, I did not get sick at all. And it was a little bumpy at times. I would suggest just to have some on hand.

Always go out in the ocean with an open mind. It’s not always going to be a perfect catch but keep trying. My captain was Brandon and the first mate was Holden. Ask for them they are professional and treat you great.

Small charters are the way to go. Don't reserve a charter that takes 20+ people at once. Our boat took 6 people and it was perfect.
If you're looking to catch the big stuff, reserve a full day trip to get out far enough on the ocean, and take 6 people because there's a limit to how many fish each person can keep.

If the weather is the slightest bit questionable before or during your chosen trip don't go out. The water was very choppy which made me very nervous having a small child with me. Even though I felt we could trust the crew.

I would recommend that anglers check the fishing season. We realized after we booked the charter that what we were fishing for was not in season. We are inexperienced anglers so we really didn’t expect to catch many fish anyway!I would also recommend that they check the reviews before booking. One of the reasons we chose Captain Lee was due to the positive reviews that he received.

Short trips can't go out as far. Spending a little more to go on the 1/2 day even the full day trips are better for the more experienced fisherman. Short trips are great for the kids to learn and get used to the boating experience.

If you want to go for the experience of catching fish go to a party boat because it is less expensive and you catch the same small fish that have to be released. If you want to catch game fish go somewhere else. If you want to cook your catch, buy them at a fish market!

Find out when is the best time to come fish in the area and when is good for what you want to catch. And book a full day instead of half a day so you can go farther out and have better chance of catching more and bigger fish

Check the weather! If you're doing the charter talk with the captain about your time slot. If he's any good he'll tell you how the water is and how the fish are biting. Then have you make the choice.

The crew was fun and very informative.

Definitely go for the smaller charter boats. Having a smaller group makes for way more fun in the water!

I answer no to the question , is this charter recommended for children and I said no, but only because they did not give me any age option
I would say a good trip few kids 12 and over

Beware you can get motion sickness, take the meds for it prior to trip. Bring some H20, a cooler, and a sammie/snacks.

It’s a long boat ride to and from the ocean along the water way so plan for 1 hour of travel time each way which effects your fishing time.

Be sure if you chartered that it hadn’t rained hard the prior day or two. Clouds up the water and makes it difficult to catch anything. Other than that had a great time, great crew and great boat!!
