Fresh Niagara River Fishing Reports

Ryan gave his son Wes a gift of a full day charter. Early fears of cold, excessively windy conditions were put to rest. Braving the cold Erie NE wind and morning temperature of 49 degrees, we set out expecting a tough bite. Well, the smallmouth had other ideas. Ryan dropped his lure to the bottom and in less than 20 seconds was hooked up with a big bass just shy of 4 lbs! Not to be out done, Wes hooked his first before his dad released his fish! The battle between father and son continued back and forth until later in the day the young buck gradually surged ahead! In the process also boating the biggest of the day! Ended up with over 40 fish total combined! Tough bite? I think not! Today proved that there’s still plenty of good families out there and thst father / son trips are anong my favorite. Just an outstanding day on the water!

Invited Lance and his daughter back on board to “make up” for a recent horrible weather trip. And make up for it they did!! With just a few hours to fish due to prior commitments, we set to work quickly! The action was incredible from the onset. Both anglers repeatedly set the hook and landed smallmouth after smallmouth! Was a great day on the water with great people again! Both caught their personal best today and both csught over a dozen keepers each making the day even better!

Afternoon session was spent in the river targeting smallmouth bass. Seasonal restrictions are catch and release only artificial lures only. Multiple double headers and even a triple header happened today. Despite high sun and heat the bite remained consistent.

Excellent fishing continues in Lake Ontario. King Salmon and Lake Trout came to the boat today in big numbers. Surface temperature in the lake was 53.6 degrees. Winds were light out of the south which gave us calm water during our morning session. Fish are starting to push off deeper as waters warm.

A prior customer from West Virginia booked todays trip for her dad and brother. The boys dropped their lines and caught 3 keepers within the first 25 minutes! After that they brought big fish to the net on a very consistent basis. Ended up catching over 30 beautiful fish including a nice walleye. Their angling skills were evident as they caught fish both deep snd shallow! They lost a couple of true giants but still had an excellent outing! It was my pleasure to have them on board today!
