This would be a great trip for first time anglers in Destin, especially when catching Spanish Mackerel. It was a nice day on the bait, easy to tell when fish are on, and a good fight but quick. Great for kids or novice anglers that want a great day on the water that ends in a tasty meal for the dinner table. After, there are several options for cook and catch at local restaurants for the freshest meal.

if the water is rough stay in the bay. We hooked a ton of fish in a short period of time and never left sight of land. had we gone out further the water woukd have been too rough.

Loved the weather in April not to hot. Bring a cooler with snacks and drinks and an extra cooler for your catch. You can leave that extra cooler in your car until you make it back to the dock.

Family Tradition Charters – Panama City
This was our first fishing trip. Our children are 6, 8, 10, 12. We went on a 3 he fishing trip with Destin Bay Fishing Charters. Capt Keller was incredibly kind and patient, answering the non stop influx of questions from excited kids. He was an expert at finding fish — Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, and two large trout (4 and 5 lbs). We also caught a stingray. My 8 yr old wanted to go back out again for the rest of the day! A highlight of our trip for the whole family.
