With the month of May wrapping up finally, here's a little bit of a snapshot of some of the recent trips. Lots of quality walleyes came aboard this past month. Most were tricked by a simple leech or crawler pulled around underwater structure. June is on deck and is quite possibly the best month of the year most years. Still plenty of openings for your opportunity to try fishing Lake Pepin.

Minnesota Musky opener

Muskie opener is only a couple weeks away, and I couldn't be more excited! The weather this spring is shaping up to be an incredible start to the muskie season. A nice stretch of weather before opener will have weed growth looking really good. I expect the 35-42 inch males will be using the weeds and the big females will be in open water! One thing I love about early season musky fishing is that the fish can be anywhere from the shallow weedy flats, out into open water basins, and everywhere in between. Book your trip now, I have a couple of dates left on the calendar!

Weed cruising walleyes!

Walleyes and bass are active on the deep weeds. We're getting them with a very simple tactic, the Ned rig! Probably one of the easiest ways to catch fish! Musky opener is approaching quickly and things are looking great for the opener. I still have a few dates availabe in June!

Brian is extremely knowledgeable about the lakes he guides on. He is very easy and fun to talk with! He made an ethical decision to not target certain fish as to not harm the fish with the water being as warm as it was, but had us catching fish the whole time we were in the boat! If we didn’t live in Kansas we would use Brian’s guid services consistently, and we will definitely hire him again next time we are in Minnesota.
