We set out from South Padre Island at 7:00 AM on a beautiful June morning, with clear conditions throughout the day. Our plan for the day was to utilize live bait fishing, surf fishing, and casting lures to target the abundant Spotted trout in the area. Throughout the trip, we were able to land several Spotted trout, with the largest measuring in at 18 inches. These feisty fish put up a great fight and are excellent table fare, making them a prime target for anglers visiting the South Padre Island region. While we didn't stick a trophy on this run, every cast and minute on the water was worth it.
