Trip Summary

Peak water temps are getting close and the bite is shifting a little bit. Not as many fish up shallow on a bucktail bite anymore. We're starting to find fish off the breaks and chasing deeper baits. When weather permits, we're still hitting the shallows for the first hour or so in the morning, then working the deeper breaks off the same structure.

We've reached the summer heat here in the Twin Cities. Water is reaching peak temperature and the bite is getting tough for the time being, right now it's really important to pay attention the safety of these fish. After the next couple of trips I will be taking a break until the water cools. We do have cooler air temps coming for a couple of days so that should help. I would expect August to be phenomenal fishing. Get your late summer trips planned because they are already starting to fill up.

The bass bite is firing up here in the metro with lots of fish coming on frogs in the lily pads! lots of fish on texas rigs in the cover and around docks. 40 fish days are pretty common right now, July bass trips are almost full so get on the calendar!
