It was a big fish kind of morning. 10 minutes into the morning, this big Minneapolis musky ate a bucktail. Later in the morning an even bigger one tried to eat at boatside, but it only got nip hooked and came off on the first headshake.

This dude has never musky fished in his life, and catches one 20 minutes into the morning! So happy for this guy!

We've reached the summer heat here in the Twin Cities. Water is reaching peak temperature and the bite is getting tough for the time being, right now it's really important to pay attention the safety of these fish. After the next couple of trips I will be taking a break until the water cools. We do have cooler air temps coming for a couple of days so that should help. I would expect August to be phenomenal fishing. Get your late summer trips planned because they are already starting to fill up.
