August is often referred to as the dog days of summer. Fishing can be difficult this time of year. Experience and knowledge to overcome these challenges are important to put real fish in the boat. Of course, fishing charters are not always about just catching fish. This is entertainment and sometimes the fish just don't want to entertain. That's where sightseeing, jokes, stories, and just good conversation come into play. A good captain will keep you entertained no matter what happens out there. I would much rather the fish entertain, because it makes my job easier and well catching fish gets me in a better mood to entertain as well. As I look back at the pictures and reflect on some of our trips this August the fish definitely kept us entertain. We were looking for some little critters to keep the kids busy. We got few good surprises from some nice hard pulling black drum. Our water temperature has really warmed up and all sorts of critters are starting to nibble. Live shrimp and menhaden are filling up our waters and the predator fish are following. Its time, let's go fishing! See ya on the water.

The migration of bait fish and shrimp through or area is happening now. This migration brings large schools of redfish, trout, and black drum through our area. From mid September through Thanksgiving the fishing is as good as it gets. October is the best month to chase redfish. November is the best time to chase trout. Start booking those trips now.
