Trip Summary

The current drought and heat wave in upstate NY forced us to resort to plan B for salmon season, going to Lake Erie for some early steelhead fishing. While not many steelhead have arrived at the tributaries yet, there were enough fish that were eager to eat and put on a show. In two days of fishing we had 4 fish to hand with many more hook-ups, "Fish on!, Fish off..." looking forward to returning in early November when things should really start to heat up. In the meantime, we'll have to stay busy in Chincoteague with speckled trout, flounder and striped bass. See you out there, Aloha!

We are officially opening the fall sportfishing season after a busy trip yesterday yielded an inshore slam including a keeper flounder. The cooler temperatures are on the way, moving fish around and making them hungry. Conditions should improve from now to Thanksgiving. Weekdays are best as we have the water to ourselves most days. Up north, the salmon are in and the steelhead are on their way. Contact me for Great Lakes angling adventure. See you on the water, aloha!

Tropical Storm Erin put an early end to shark season, roiling waters and dropping water temps by 15 degrees. As the weather has settled and temps continue to cool Speckled Trout have begun to show back in the marsh. Mostly small now, their size should improve as we move into September. Flounder have resumed eating, and hopefully their size will improve as well. We even had an early Striped Bass on yesterday's trip, showing you can never tell what's at the other end of the line in the fall. A reminder that we will be fishing upstate NY in October for king Salmon, and Erie PA in early November for Steelhead Trout. If you seek some walk and wade adventure contact us for details.
