Great Snook bight in cold weather !
Had the opportunity to participate in project healing waters out of South Seas Island Resort Wednesday and Thursday. Well the first day was a bust, high winds a cold temps kept us from leaving the dock. However, we did manage to get out on Thursday. The wind was still blowing 20 out of the north and the temperature was in the 60s but we toughed out the conditions and we’re rewarded with a dozen nice Snook! Cold temperatures like these can really shut the Snook bite off. We started by working couple deeper mangrove shorelines. These are areas Snook will typically move to when water temps begin to drop. It wasn’t long before we found some hungry fish and were able to pull some solid Snook out of the mangroves !
