? Today’s Fishing Report – Lake Erie Islands ? Dan and Luther made the trip to the Lake Erie Islands for a true hands‑on Off Shore Tackle Company Tackle Company planer board learning experience—and they didn’t waste any time. Both guys jumped right in and ran the back deck like pros. We headed east of KI along with just about every other angler in the Western Basin. It was packed, and finding a clean trolling lane definitely took some work. Once set up, we put out 8 Offshore OR‑12 boards along with one Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50. Productive baits included. Bandits, Reef Runner 900s, and Top 20s, run 30/30 with 2 ozand PWC 25/25. The real surprise of the day was speed—2.2 mph up and downwind was the ticket. ? **First Trip of the Year in the Books!** ? Kicked off the season with an awesome crew from **Northern Indiana and Michigan** — and let me tell you, these guys *never* stopped cutting on each other… I got my fair share too ? We worked **west of the Bass Islands** and put together a **nice grade of fish**, even though it was a bit of a **slow pick**. Grinding pays off! ? **What Worked:** ✅ **Bandits** – 20-35 back ✅ **Top 20s** – 40 back ✅ **Jointed Rebel Fast Trak** on the Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. ** TruTrip 50** – 26 back ? Best colors were **Purple**, **RC Crush**, and **Kakhi** ? Speed sweet spot was **1.7 mph** I was really impressed with the Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 Planner boards, running six per side with zero issues. Clean pulls, great bite detection, and they handled the spread exactly as one would expect. Great crew, great laughs, and a solid start to the season. Ron wanted his son Patrick to have an opportunity for some Lake Erie Walleye. They headed East from Indiana to join me in Cleveland. We fished North of 72nd street. We had almost non-stop action with Reef Runner Tackle Company 900s behind Off Shore Tackle Company inline planner boards. Bandits did their share of the work as well. All stock colors today with the exception of the BlackH2oDog custom. Dipsey 3 setting with Rapala J7s. Ripplin Redfins 30 back on Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s. This crew tossed back fish for several hours after our limits and they learned to use Offshore Tackle planner boards.
