Trip Summary

Well the water is cooling down been in the upper 30’s for the last week. Most Smallmouth have moved to their winter holding areas. They are still very catchable especially on TACKLEHD HiDEF Crawfish and Keitech USA swimbaits. The walleye bite has really picked up most falling to Zman TRD mainly in the baitfish colors. The extended forecast looks good with temperatures near or slightly above normal.

As the summer winds down the Susquehanna Smallmouth become much more aggressive. The small finesse baits that are the normal for the summer will be replaced by much bigger more aggressive baits such as Jerk Baits, Crankbaits and Spinnerbaits. This is my favorite time of the year the fall foliage is beautiful the bugs have gone away and the Smallmouth and Walleye get very hungry plus the bonus Musky become more common.
