Trip Summary
If you’re looking for the best inshore fishing along the Texas Coastal Bend this week, the bite has been outstanding across Aransas Pass, Rockport, Port Aransas, Ingleside, and Corpus Christi. Speckled trout are stacked up along grass edges and drop-offs in 3 to 6 feet of water, while redfish continue cruising shallow flats and shorelines looking for an easy meal. This is one of the best times of year to book a guided fishing trip on the Texas coast.
Here at Clean Fun Fishing, I’ve been finding consistent action drifting grass lines and potholes with popping corks and shrimp lures for trout. The trout spawn is still in full swing, and we’ve been catching quality fish early in the mornings before transitioning to deeper edges as the sun gets higher. Live shrimp under popping corks has been hard to beat, but artificial shrimp lures and soft plastics are producing too when the water stays clean.
Redfish have been feeding aggressively on cut bait, mullet, and live shrimp around marsh drains, shallow flats, and muddy shorelines. The morning bite has been especially good with lighter winds and moving tides. We’re also seeing solid numbers of black drum mixed in around deeper holes and channel edges.
Families, beginners, and experienced anglers are all catching fish right now, making this a perfect time for family-friendly fishing charters in Aransas Pass and the surrounding Coastal Bend areas. Whether you want to target trophy speckled trout, slot redfish, or simply enjoy a fun day on the water with your kids, conditions have lined up nicely this week.
