Trip Summary
It is hard to believe that December is knocking on the door, but the new month brings new fishing opportunities in the Fort Lauderdale/ Hollywood area. This time last year it seemed like we were hooking up at least two sails on every trip, as long as the seas were not too rough. This is the time of year for seasoned fishermen that do not mind a bit of choppy water to really load up on fishing action. Disturbed seas make the baitfish skittish and big predators hungry. Along with sails, I expect the wahoo bite to kick off in the next week or two. Kingfish, bonitos, and blackfin tunas are still around the reef edges, and we are picking them off with seawitch feathers tipped with bonito belly. The Lady Pamela sportfishing boats will troll these baits behind planers to keep them from skipping out of the water in choppy seas.
