Blue Marlin Battle & Triple Dorado Day (

On June 13, we began trolling approximately 2 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, where we immediately found exceptional billfish activity. Throughout the morning, we observed numerous striped marlin cruising and feeding on the surface. We made several live bait presentations, casting baits directly in front of the fish in an effort to trigger a bite. While working the area, a mahi mahi struck one of our baits and was successfully landed and brought aboard. As the day progressed, the marlin activity only increased. We encountered groups of marlin throughout the fishing grounds, including several occasions where three striped marlin were feeding on the surface at the same time. We presented both live bait and rigged dead bait, but the fish remained extremely selective. By the end of the trip, we had cast to approximately 15 different striped marlin, an incredible amount of billfish activity for a single day, though none of them committed to the baits. ⸻ Conditions: * Outstanding striped marlin activity * Multiple fish feeding on the surface * Good water conditions along the coastline * Highly selective billfish behavior ⸻ Summary: An exciting offshore day featuring: * 1 mahi mahi landed * 15 striped marlin sightings * Multiple live bait and dead bait presentations * Several multi-marlin encounters While the marlin refused to bite, the sheer number of fish encountered made for a memorable day on the water and showcased the incredible billfish activity currently taking place in Cabo waters. ?????

On June 12, we began the day running offshore toward the 95 Spot. Although we found plenty of flying fish and promising conditions, we were unable to generate any strikes. With no action offshore, we changed strategies and moved inshore to target roosterfish along the coastline. During the transition, we had a close encounter with a roosterfish and successfully landed a Spanish mackerel (sierra) on a pink Rapala lure. We then worked the coastline from the Grand Velas area to Santa María Point, where we observed several bait balls and spotted additional roosterfish in the area. Despite multiple opportunities and presentations, the fish remained selective and refused to bite. ⸻ Conditions: * Abundant flying fish offshore * Multiple bait balls along the coastline * Roosterfish present but not actively feeding * Good inshore water conditions ⸻ Summary: A technical day featuring: * 1 Sierra (Spanish mackerel) landed * Multiple roosterfish sightings * Several bait balls located * Productive inshore scouting conditions Although the roosterfish were reluctant to bite, the day provided valuable sightings and ended with a quality sierra on board before returning to Cabo San Lucas Marina. ???☀️

On June 10, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas until reaching the 3-mile line, where we turned east and began trolling parallel to the coastline. Just 10 minutes after deploying the trolling spread, a striped marlin appeared behind a blue and white Flying Fish lure, aggressively investigating the bait but ultimately refusing to strike. The action then shifted to skipjack tuna, with fish attacking multiple lures throughout the morning. We experienced constant action, hooking more than 25 skipjack tuna during the trip. Later, approximately 3 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, a mahi mahi struck a Petrolero lure and was successfully brought aboard. The excitement continued when one of the hooked skipjack tuna was attacked by a shark. After a brief fight, the shark was brought alongside the boat and safely released. ⸻ Conditions: * Excellent trolling conditions along the 3-mile line * High skipjack tuna activity throughout the trip * Active predator presence, including marlin, mahi mahi, and shark * Productive blue-water conditions close to shore ⸻ Summary: A fast-paced offshore trip featuring: * 1 mahi mahi landed * 1 shark released * 25+ skipjack tuna hookups * 1 striped marlin encounter An action-packed day on the water with nonstop bites, multiple species, and plenty of excitement from start to finish in Cabo waters. ??????
