Trip Summary
On June 14, we departed Cabo San Lucas running a heading of 120ยฐ. At approximately 4 miles offshore, we got our first bite of the day when a mahi mahi struck a bait and was successfully brought aboard.
We then continued working parallel to the coastline, moving in to about 2 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, where a striped marlin attacked a bait. After an exciting 40-minute fight, we successfully landed the fish, making it the highlight of the trip.
With the marlin on board, we continued working the area, making several passes within a 3-mile radius. The persistence paid off when another mahi mahi struck a blue and white Flying Fish lure, giving us our second dorado of the day.
After a productive morning and steady action throughout the trip, we headed back to the marina with an excellent mixed catch.
