Trip Summary

On June 14, we departed Cabo San Lucas running a heading of 120ยฐ. At approximately 4 miles offshore, we got our first bite of the day when a mahi mahi struck a bait and was successfully brought aboard. We then continued working parallel to the coastline, moving in to about 2 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, where a striped marlin attacked a bait. After an exciting 40-minute fight, we successfully landed the fish, making it the highlight of the trip. With the marlin on board, we continued working the area, making several passes within a 3-mile radius. The persistence paid off when another mahi mahi struck a blue and white Flying Fish lure, giving us our second dorado of the day. After a productive morning and steady action throughout the trip, we headed back to the marina with an excellent mixed catch. โธป Conditions: * Good water color and temperature * Active bait presence along the coastline * Productive trolling conditions near Cabeza de Ballena * Consistent pelagic activity throughout the morning โธป Summary: A successful offshore trip featuring: * 1 striped marlin landed * 2 mahi mahi (dorado) landed An outstanding Cabo fishing day with quality catches, a memorable marlin fight, and plenty of action from start to finish. ?????

On June 13, we began trolling approximately 2 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, where we immediately found exceptional billfish activity. Throughout the morning, we observed numerous striped marlin cruising and feeding on the surface. We made several live bait presentations, casting baits directly in front of the fish in an effort to trigger a bite. While working the area, a mahi mahi struck one of our baits and was successfully landed and brought aboard. As the day progressed, the marlin activity only increased. We encountered groups of marlin throughout the fishing grounds, including several occasions where three striped marlin were feeding on the surface at the same time. We presented both live bait and rigged dead bait, but the fish remained extremely selective. By the end of the trip, we had cast to approximately 15 different striped marlin, an incredible amount of billfish activity for a single day, though none of them committed to the baits. โธป Conditions: * Outstanding striped marlin activity * Multiple fish feeding on the surface * Good water conditions along the coastline * Highly selective billfish behavior โธป Summary: An exciting offshore day featuring: * 1 mahi mahi landed * 15 striped marlin sightings * Multiple live bait and dead bait presentations * Several multi-marlin encounters While the marlin refused to bite, the sheer number of fish encountered made for a memorable day on the water and showcased the incredible billfish activity currently taking place in Cabo waters. ?????
