The current drought and heat wave in upstate NY forced us to resort to plan B for salmon season, going to Lake Erie for some early steelhead fishing. While not many steelhead have arrived at the tributaries yet, there were enough fish that were eager to eat and put on a show. In two days of fishing we had 4 fish to hand with many more hook-ups, "Fish on!, Fish off..." looking forward to returning in early November when things should really start to heat up. In the meantime, we'll have to stay busy in Chincoteague with speckled trout, flounder and striped bass. See you out there, Aloha!

We are officially opening the fall sportfishing season after a busy trip yesterday yielded an inshore slam including a keeper flounder. The cooler temperatures are on the way, moving fish around and making them hungry. Conditions should improve from now to Thanksgiving. Weekdays are best as we have the water to ourselves most days.
