Tuna (Skipjack)

Tuna (Yellowfin)
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Being right in the middle of the annual big tuna migration and the bite slowing down in the morning we were out for an afternoon trip with a regular guest.Just after putting the 3rd line in the water we spotted some bird activity. As soon as we went through the school we hooked 2 skipjacks and caught both which weighed 10 lbs each.Shortly afterwards we found some schools of big Yellowfin tuna.Conditions were good but it was very difficult to get one. That's fishing, otherwise it would be no fun.We continued moving from one school to another and changing the bait colours and sizes without success still. We then decided that we would just troll with our regular spread and hope to get lucky.Luck stroke and the big tuna took a little short corner lure.It took us an hour and fifteen minutes to get the 140 lbs fish on the small 30 lbs reel.In fishing we need a lot of patience and luck as well.
