Grouper (Gag)
Summary

A beautiful December day out on Tampa Bay. A box of frozen Spanish sardines and grouper rods at the ready.  We’re bottom fishing the Egmont Channel for Gag Grouper. Then it’s on to the shallows in Tampa for Snook at high tide. First we anchor on the edge of the channel on a rocky drop off. Then we get out the 4/0 Penn Senator reels with 80 lb leader,3 oz weights and 5/0 circle hooks. Drop that to the bottom with a Spanish sardine cut in half. And weight….
Then it to the flats using live greenback sardines on a Penn 4000 spinning reel,30 lb fluorocarbon leader and freelining for snook just before dark.
