Big Reds and Great Weather

Trip Summary

We finally got a break from the wind the other day and I had a regular customer return for another Redfish trip. Mr Joe has been out with me several times in the last year and he loves catching Redfish. We got an early start and threw plastic most of the morning. After many short strikes, we gave in and switched to shrimp under a cork. By noon Joe had his limit. Highlight of the day was when Joe was fighting big red number 5, a huge Black Drum started tailing next to the boat. I dropped a blue Strike King Rage Tail Craw on his nose and he inhaled it and took off, peeling drag. 15 minutes later we had both fish in the boat and were heading back to the dock. Another great day of fishing in New Orleans. At your service, Captain Drake Morvant
