Trip Summary

Snapper Grouper Fishing Fort Lauderdale For the last couple of weeks the current has slowed down the moon was right and the bottom fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale had been great. We have been setting up just up stream from some wrecks and coming up with some YUMMMMY catches. There’s been a hand full of nice groupers (Black Groupers and some Warsaw Groupers) Along with some great eating mutton snappers and of cause the always welcomed Yellow Tail snappers. OCT FISHING OFF FORT LAUDERDALE WOW
OCT FISHING OFF FORT LAUDERDALE WOW
October 1, 2025
• Fort Lauderdale Deep Sea Fishing Report – October Wow, wow, wow — what a month for fishing in Fort Lauderdale! The mahi mahi showed up a little late this year, but when they did, they came in thick and hungry. We’ve been catching beautiful gaffer-size mahi, ranging from 8 to 15 pounds — an unexpected pleasure for this time of year. The sailfish are starting to show up strong too, mostly in 170 to 200 feet of water. Lately, we’ve even been spotting them chasing ballyhoo in the shallows — a great sign that sailfish season in Fort Lauderdale is just getting started. Even more exciting, we found mahi mahi feeding in under 100 feet of water! Casting live bait to them in the shallows has made for some incredible light-tackle action and unforgettable fishing days. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous — calm seas, clear blue water, and air temperatures between 67° and 75°F. No hurricanes for us this year, but it looks like the storms that passed through the Caribbean pushed plenty of fish our way. All in all, October was a fantastic month for deep sea fishing off Fort Lauderdale. Looking ahead, November should bring red-hot sailfishing and a good shot at wahoo as well. The water temps and conditions are lining up perfectly for an amazing winter bite. If you’re ready to experience the action, come fish with us aboard Hooked Up, one of the top-rated Fort Lauderdale fishing charters. Whether you’re after mahi mahi, sailfish, wahoo, or just a great day on the water, we’ll make sure you have an unforgettable trip.
