Wam! Line started peeling off the triolling line just a few minutes out of the pass this morning! The big king haven't really showed up yet so I was suspect that we may have hooked a jack crevalle. Then as we were watching out behind the boat for the line I saw a brown back on the surface and knew we had hooked a cobia! After a lengthy battle we were able to gaff it and get the fish in the box. What a great start to what ended up a productive trolling session on the way out to bottom fish. We also caught a nice king further out and as we approached our first area to bottom fish, public bridge rubble, we left the lines in and hooked 3 amberjack. One broke off and one was too small.
