I had Dave G. as my guest today and for the first time in a while the weather was beautiful and the fish were biting! We caught 5 different species of fish today. Mostly speckled trout but also caught redfish, drum, flounder, and croaker. The trout, reds, flounder were caught on matrix shad (lemon) and live coackahoe minnows the drum and croaker were caught on fresh market shrimp. Live shrimp are not available yet. We also tried trolling with rattle traps and a B-2 squid trailer and had success with that as well. The fish have moved into the lake and are staged around the bridges. All of our fish today were caught at the train trestles. I have lots of openings between now and June 1st for the Lake Pontchartrain trips that start at $350 (two person 4 hour trip).
