Jack, Amanda & Jacob from North Carolina joined us aboard GOOD DAY yesterday & we enjoyed another great day on the water out of Marina Pez Vela Within 10 minutes of putting the lines in, 16 year old Jacob was hooked up to an est. 150lb Blue Marlin which went on a blistering run putting on a great aerial display before throwing the hook, a very cool experience for the guys and what a way to start the day, but the fish won on this occasion! We got our Marlin though, in the form of Jack’s 1st ever Striped Marlin, a stunning lit up fish in the 80-90lb range. Huge congrats J ack! We added a Sailfish to the tally which was tagged & released for Gray FishTag Research and we caught a couple of nice sized Dorados as well as missed/lost a few more. 1 Striped Marlin 1 Sailfish 2 Dorado 0 for 1 Blue Marlin So narrowly missing out on the GRAND SLAM with the Blue Marlin that got away but family memories made for a lifetime. Heading back out there now! ?
