Redfish
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Fishing the intercoastal of clearwater has been good between these cold fronts, we have been catching some large sea trout and redfish, with some black drum, sheepshead and snook mixed in. This time of year can make these inshore fish lazy with some cold stirred up water forcing us to use lots of cut bait and shrimp to get our bites. Handfuls of over-slot redfish and sea trout have been coming over the side of the boat rewarding clients chasing that inshore trophy. We have mainly been focusing on fishing residential docks, mullet schools around oyster beds, and mud and grass flats that hold heat from the sun, these fronts can drop water temps 6-8 degrees in just a matter of a couple days, this can make for difficult fishing during and after a front before the fish get back to their normal patterns. I always try to take advantage of our nice days when we are lucky enough to go a couple miles offshore and load the cooler with key west grunts and mangrove snapper for groups that are interested in taking home lots of fresh fish. All in all fishing has been productive and there is always something we will be able to target. Book a trip and come catch some life long memories, you’ll be hooked!
