Sightfishing Snook on Fly
March 07, 2022 Homestead 4 photos & 2 videos

Trip Summary

Started off the morning targeting BIG snook on fly in shallow water. The fish were uncooperative today, showing up always when we had the fly stuck in a branch or mangrove tree, or spooking just before we could get in range. We had 3-4 eats from larger snook that did not end up getting hooked and we saw a handful of very large snooks that made our adrenaline rush but no takers. We did manage to get two small snook on fly which was an accomplishment as they were Steve's first snook he had ever caught. On the way to our second spot a tarpon jumped into the boat and smacked me in the thighs. After a quick picture we let him go. We ended up seeing lots of crocs and alligators and a bald eagle. It was also my first time ever seeing a Red head duck in the park so that was cool.
