Trip Summary

8 year old Corey & his dad Ali from the Isle of Man visited us in April for a mixture of Offshore & Inshore fishing aboard GOOD DAY. Corey did amazing to spend 3.5 days on the water, never complained once and it was a trip where you could see his love and passion for the Ocean grow as well as learning the patience required to spend long hours at sea. Corey had a Shark infatuation when he was a toddler, so it was very cool when he reeled in a black tip Shark during the Inshore trip. It proved to be a tough days fishing, Corey caught a Mackerel & Needlefish in addition to the Shark and was super unlucky to lose a 30lb Roosterfish right next to the boat after a 10 minute battle. Ali added a long jaw leatherback but no luck on the Roosterfish, Snook & Snappers that we tried for at the beaches & rocks 30 miles south of Quepos. The highlight of the day was watching a school of Tarpon roll on the surface close to the boat, coincidentally in the exact spot we caught a 100lb tarpon a couple of years ago, but no bites from them today unfortunately.
