Trip Summary

Crazy day chasing bonefish on fly. We saw a few when the day started but hanging around the sargasso weed were hundreds. With it being a windy day we couldnt keep the boat in a position that favoured the angler so I got out of the boat and began walking the boat up the flat with the bow facing shore rather than the bow facing out to sea into the wind. My buddy chris stayed on the platform scoping out the territory. A few minutes later we had a pod of fish coming in hot right at the boat. Bill (the angler) threw and began stripping at chris's command. All of a sudden chris yelled SET IT! and Bill set it so hard it almost came out of the water. It then ran straight under the seagrass and for the next 10 minutes I was wading through ridiculous amounts of seagrass try to get as much as possible off the line as I could. Finally at the end of the fight it wrapped the line around my legs and I did a spinmove 360 and luckily the tippet didnt break. After a few more minutes we finally landed him and the joy on the boat was out of this world!
