We had some wind. The wind built a sea. I didn't fish for two days, mowed the lawn, watched my son's soccer game. When I got back out, the water was still a little bit silty and weedy. This did make for some difficult fishing. This is part of the game: how to catch fish when the fish don't want to bite. We did manage some good bottom fish--scup, fluke, some Atlantic mackerel. The weather this week looks better, the ocean calm and inviting. I will report back in a few days. John

Good stuff. We've been running squid trips at night and fluke and striper trips during the day. Some good catches. Beautiful fish, beautiful squid. Good eating all around. It's getting good. The fish are arriving. We've been fishing for fluke, squid, and blues. Stripers any day now for me. Weather is getting warmer. Now I know the economy has some of us worried, the uncertainty about the future. But I say what better way to shed some of this worry than a fishing trip. The ocean has a way of helping us reset, realign. Catch a fish, watch the sea roll past.
