As we turn the page on the calender, winter has begun to set in earnest. Water temps in the 30s have slowed the bite to a trickle, but the few fish we are catching are an impressive size, including this 30 incher (released) on New Years Eve. As the north winds howl, we have begun to set the table for the coming season. A new motor, new trailer, and all-Tackle update and rigging. All this to provide the angler the highest degree of performance and reliability possible. We are seeking a historical designation for "Shadrunner" as a working waterman's vessel. She's been a great old vessel and we hope to see her for many seasons to come. Our plan is no price increase for 2025 to continue our tradition of "Affordable Family Fun Fishing". As can be expected, the days have shortened, the water has cooled, and the trout and redfish have moved on south. As the warm water fish move south, schools of striped bass (rockfish) are moving south to replace them. This can make for some fun cast and retrieve fishing right up to the new year. Add a few hold-out flounder and some hard pulling tautog around structure and you have the makings of an eventful early winter trip.
