COUPLE'S FISHING COSTA RICA
February 12, 2023
Tom, Christina, John & Sandra from New York joined us aboard GOOD DAY this week. After an excellent couple of days with us last year Tom was excited to see what they could catch this year. Day 1 got off to a flyer and we enjoyed a pretty Good Sailfish bite going 5 for 6 on Sails and the guys enjoyed deploying some tags for Gray FishTag Research. Sandra caught a stunning Yellowfin Tuna which provided them with some excellent meals up at Shana by the Beach hotel prepared by Warner and the team. The girls had a blast watching the spinner dolphins and tuna school & the fishy moment of the day was when a Blue Marlin crashed the right Squidnation teaser and piled on the Bonito pitch bait that we threw him. Fish on! Unfortunately it didn’t last very long & the hook pulled during the first run to everyone’s dissapointment. Catch report - day 1 5 for 6 Sailfish 1 Tuna 30lbs Lost a Blue Marlin Day 2 yesterday was a boys trip whilst the ladies pampered themselves with a Spa/Massage Day. We headed out 36 miles where there had been a nice Marlin/Sail bite the previous day. We marked fish like crazy 100-200 feet down but there was so much bait there that just did not seem interested. We fished our socks off, we were completely focussed on catching the guys a Marlin but things just did not work out. We caught one monster Bonito, had a brief encounter with 1 Sailfish behind the teaser which quickly faded off and that was about it. Super tough day, you can’t win them all! Thank to Tom, John & the ladies for fishing with us, great to have you aboard and hope to see you soon. Heading back out there now with Tim & Dean from England!

COUPLE'S FISHING IN QUEPOS COSTA RICA
December 29, 2022
Just an epic trip yesterday for our last outing before Christmas and fantastic to have Cross & Casey from Florida join us aboard GOOD DAY. After quickly catching some Bonito livebaits to start the day, no sooner had we set them out did we have a Blue Marlin airborne but unfortunately it threw the hook on its first jump. We pushed on but the next couple of hours out to 30 miles proved to be slow & fishless. Thankfully our fortunes changed & we raised the second Marlin of the day, this time getting a solid hook set and Lady Angler Casey did amazing fighting the fish & getting it boatside in 20 minutes. A stunning Blue Marlin of around 200lb, which we tagged & released for the Gray FishTag Research program. To say the guys were delighted would be an understatement. We then found an area which provided some great Dorado action, we caught a double, then a triple as well as a couple of singles. Mostly solid fish up to 48-50”. We kept 3 for dinner and tagged & released the rest for @gray fishtag research. We then raised another Marlin, crossed got a Bonito pitch bait to it quickly but this fish was gone off the teaser as quick as it came si no luck on that one unfortunately. Catch Report 1 for 2 Blue Marlin est. 200lb (109”) & raised 3 total 7 Dorados 0 for 1 Sailfish Just an epic day on the water and so nice to have passionate Anglers Cross & Casey with us. So that left us 3 for 6 on Blue Marlin on the last 2 days, Merry Christmas! ???
