Got on some tarpon the other afternoon. The evening trips are still a good bet. Beat the heat and be out for the sunset period where they often fire up. These local tarpon are here all through the summer and fall until it gets cold. And we often are fishing mahi carcasses which makes for easy bait to get so that takes the worry of having bait off the table. Give me a shout lets go catching!

Got out for a full day but we split it in half which i sometimes do this time of year. We had tarpon action in the morning and then again in the evening. Caught a couple for the day and had a few more shots all staying within a few miles. July should remain good for tarpon and last minute availability is a little better. Still getting after the tarpon here in Islamorada. We should continue having decent fishing through July and who knows maybe into september or October. It was kind of a slow start this season so were hoping the later season will continue to produce. Evening trip are a good option and can be booked short notice often ad we arent super busy so cherry pick your conditions!
