My two students had full hands on experience catching Walleye and and several other species using the various methods BlackH2oDog Charters uses on Lake Erie. By the end of our time together they were setting and removing Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards using their full variety of clips and releases. They also learned about the divers we use like the Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 40s and 50s. Including how to set and read the 40s on inline planner boards and the 50s on corner downloads. Dispsey Diver set as a high diver on a 3 setting outside of the TT 50s. Baits, BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons, crawler harnesses with Arrowhead spinners 3.5 size. Rapala J7s, and Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers. We ran the Lil Rippers with Offshore 2oz Guppy Snap weights 20/20 and 50/65. Speed was 1.9 to 2.1 mph So busy getting action shots, I have no pics of the Walleye limits we caught together. After our time on the water the had an afternoon of filleting their catch. With the 25 mph overnight winds, we opted to delay our start to just after 10 am. I picked up Mike and Holly at the East Harbor Marina office and we headed of in search of clean water. This was their first time on Lake Erie. We ran to the line and set our Off Shore Tackle Company planner boards with Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers 65 back 2oz. Offshore OR 12 boards with Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 40s running BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons 40 and 55 back. On the corners we ran TruTrip 50s 30 and 45 back with J7s and Jointed Flicker Shad. Dipsey 3 setting 30 and 42 back. Speed was 2.1 mph into and with the waves. We were all reelers today.
