Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Michael and coworker Matt brought their boys Blake and Collin to catch some Walleye for a 4th of July fish fry.
No ? pressure there ?.
We headed West of the Islands to 18 to 20 fow and set our Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 40s 30 back on one side and 35 back on the other. BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons were top producers today. We are still tipping with nightcrawlers as they are still eating bugs.
For our downrods we set our Dipsey on a 3 setting 24 back and TruTrip 50s 22 back, all running FJ7s in Blue, FireTiger and Brook Trout.
This crew was busy all morning. After we all reeled a limit, we played catch and release to fill the remainder of thier time. We release 12 to 16 keepers in this time.
Everyone was either setting a rod or reeling in a keeper or short.
This was a crew of quick learners keeping the chaos free of tangles.
Things were so busy I handed off the largest Eye to Blake that Matt landed. Sorry Matt.
Our speed was 2.2 but caught at 1.8 to 2.6 mph.
