The giant bluefin’s are just off our beachs, so we had a short ride out to the fishing grounds! We arrived around 7:30am to a fleet of fishing boats. We got our spread set up for tunas. We were trolling 10 lines by 8am. Looking for birds,bait,and big fish marks on fish finder. Also keeping a sharp eye on all other boats as we don’t want to get tangled with others ! Around 1/2hr later a pop, then screaming drang!! Fish on I yelled! Every one start clearing lines, as one guy grabbed fishing rod and got in the fighting chair! The long battle has just begun. At the beginning the tuna had taking 3/4 of the line off the reel. Erick was putting all he had on the rod to get the fish turning towards the boat! Next thing you know two boat our about to cut behind us! I let them know on the radio we were streched out, and they turned away from us, thankfully! I had to back down some to get line back and get him closer to the boat. We did this for about a good hr and had him just behind the boat ! We got ready to put a gaff in the fish. The fish wasn’t haven that and takes off again! Erick pulled him back up to boat again! We can see him,he is big!! Line broke!! We were all heart broken!! He lives another day!!
