60 pound Kingfish on light tackle!

Trip Summary

We started our afternoon 4 hour catching some small bonitas for bait. After putting them out around a shallow artificial wreck we caught a 15-20 King Mackerel then a few big barracudas but as time was winding down. Our long bait on a spinning rod got annihilated and after about a 150 yard run we started gaining line and about 15 min later we boated a giant King Mackerel one of the biggest ever caught on my boat.

We had Saxon and his buddy out fishing, the weather was not the greatest but the guys were down to give it a shot. We started out kite fishing with Live baits and on our first drift we caught a 25 pound King Mackerel. Reset a little bit deeper the second time and had 3 sailfish swim up and hooked all 3. Had to chase them down in pretty bumpy conditions but we got them and then caught a four foot Reef Shark.
