This little cooler weather is causing havok with the fishing! Mainly in the department if being able to get live shad for fishing! Its the primary sourse of food for stripers! They are miles away from my area (end of lake shallow water) and too far to run as we like live bait caught daily near out marina! It gets stressed in a holding tank after a time and way ti far to run every day! Therefore I am using trolling to get fish, but even with that the fish are really small! Warm weather will help and soon be getting lots bigger fish while using bait and trolling! Lots wind also now which makes it tough! But its March, what do I expect, its this way every year! Would estimate in a good weather (warmer) period, it will be time to get here and get lots fish and big fish too! Spring is a great time to book so get that date you need before I get busy! I like be out in the cove early 3:30am, getting live baut with 20 other boats, preparing for great results fishing beautiful Lake Texome, the Striper Capital of the lake!
