Trip Summary

This fish, this far down the bay is very rare! We caught it in the downtown area of the bay. If you’ve ever fished for California Sheepshead you know they are hermaphrodite, they live their youth as a female and at a certain point a male will be required for spawning. The largest female in a reef zone will transition to a male. This fish is big enough to have transitioned long ago, but hasn’t. This means one of two things, its a solitary fish (most likely) or theres a bigger one (one can only hope)!
