Trip Summary

Surface water temperatures were 69-70 on Lake Chickamauga today. It was refreshing to not be fighting 20-30 mph wind gusts for a change. Most of our fish were taken on baits trolled at 0.9 mph presented at 10-15 foot depths in 18-25 FOW. Fished a few brushpiles with jigs and minnows, but fish were small and slow to bite

Finally got a break in what has been a bad stretch of weather on Lake Chickamauga. Landed 29 crappie today; unfortunately lots of small fish mixed in . Water temperature was 72 degrees and the fish were taken either trolling or tightlining over brushpiles.

Rained all day, but there was none of the infernal wind we've been dealing with lately. Jerry and Jay had a good day and are looking forward to fishing with me again tomorrow. In addition to the crappie, we took two nice-sized channel cats which we released. Water temperature was 69 and all fish were taken from 10-15 depths over 20-25 FOW. Fish were equally taken on crappie jigs and crankbaits.
