Trip Summary
The gulf waters are heating up and that means the fishing does too. The Spanish Mackerel bite has been AWESOME and the kings are starting to show up too!
Bottom fishing has been on fire with the vermillion snapper (aka mingos or beeliners), red and white porgys, etc., chewing up bait. We have been catching several trigger fish although many are undersized. The smaller ones still put up a mean fight but it takes about 15 smalls to catch a keeper.
As for cobia, the migration has started! They have been on a downward spiral the last ten years are so in the area but they are starting to come back and that is a good sign!
