Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Mike, Craig, Kurt have been with us several times. This time they brought Clay as well.
We opted for a late start to let the overnight wave begin to settle. We headed West of the Islands into a mix of 3 to 4 foot waves. I turned the boat and began to set lines 60 to 70 unassisted and 20/55 with 2oz on Bandits and 40 to 50 on PWCs. Both were firing right away. At least when the wind was present.
On the corners we ran Dipsey 3 setting with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons and Rapala FJ 7s behind Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s. Settings were from 22 to 42 back. I varied these throughout the day.
Speed was 2.1 mph
Then all of a sudden the wind stopped and so did our bite. We picked away and changed out a few baits to Flicker Minnow 40 to 70 back unassisted.
We finished a few short of a limit. We would all have been reelers had the fished remained hooked up until they were within reach of the net.
Great day of sharing memories, stories and a few good laughs.
