Trip Summary

Mike, Craig, Kurt have been with us several times. This time they brought Clay as well. We opted for a late start to let the overnight wave begin to settle. We headed West of the Islands into a mix of 3 to 4 foot waves. I turned the boat and began to set lines 60 to 70 unassisted and 20/55 with 2oz on Bandits and 40 to 50 on PWCs. Both were firing right away. At least when the wind was present. On the corners we ran Dipsey 3 setting with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons and Rapala FJ 7s behind Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s. Settings were from 22 to 42 back. I varied these throughout the day. Speed was 2.1 mph Then all of a sudden the wind stopped and so did our bite. We picked away and changed out a few baits to Flicker Minnow 40 to 70 back unassisted. We finished a few short of a limit. We would all have been reelers had the fished remained hooked up until they were within reach of the net. Great day of sharing memories, stories and a few good laughs. #blackh2odog #lakesidemarblehead #lakeeriewalleye #CiscoFishingSystems

Walleye Graduation Celebration
Walleye Graduation Celebration
June 6, 2026
BlackH2oDog Charters Fishing Report ? Kerry booked an afternoon Walleye charter to celebrate his grandson Aiden's graduation from the University of Cincinnati—great way to mark the occasion! We left West Harbor and headed east of the islands. With a mid-afternoon start and storms building, we had just enough time to dial in a program—and it paid off with a full limit of Walleye before the weather moved in. Our Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s paired with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons (set 43’ and 48’ back) started producing Walleye right away, even before our board lines hit the water. We set out Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 inline planer boards running Berkley Fishing Deep Hitstick 9s, weighted with 2 oz Guppy weights: - One side: 40/40 & 50/50 - Other side: 30/30 & 35/35 Hot ? colors included Gold, Flashy Pearl, and my own custom ErieDescent pattern. The action stayed steady—just fast enough to keep things interesting without turning into chaos. At we called our.outing a fishing success , 5 of 6 boards dropped back with Walleye on—great way to wrap it up! As we cleared the down rods, the skies finally let loose with heavy ?. Thanks to our Raymarine USA Doppler radar, we were able to ride the north edge of the front and stay just ahead of the worst of it, with ? off our starboard side. Fast action meant not many pictures—but plenty of memories. Awesome crew, and a great day on the water! #BlackH2oDogCharters #LakeErieWalleye #WalleyeFishing #ErieWalleye #FishingCharter #LimitCatch #PlanerBoards #BigWaterFishing #TrollingProgram #FishingReport #LakeErieFishing #WalleyeLimit #GraduationTrip #FamilyFishing #MakeMemories #RodBendingAction #OffshoreTackle #BerkleyFishing #BadmoSpoons #FishingLife #CaptainLife #Anglers #TightLines #FishOn #stormchasing

Bucket List Walleye Charter
Bucket List Walleye Charter
May 31, 2026
?? Huge thank you to Scott and Randy for joining me aboard BlackH2oDog Charters ! These longtime friends made the trip all the way from Illinois to cross Lake Erie walleye fishing off their bucket list—and I’m glad they did. After yesterday’s 25 mph winds stirred up the western basin, we made the call to push well east. It paid off. We found a solid group of fish and got to work dialing in the program. We ran: - Small crankbaits o. The Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 inlineplannerboards with Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Little Rippers - 40 back unassisted, 80–100 back with 2 oz - Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s with Spoons and J-7s (50 back) - Dipsys on a 3 setting, 55 back with spoons Speed control was key: - Into the NE wind: **1.5–1.8 mph** - With the wind: **~1.9 mph The bite didn’t start on fire, but once we figured them out, it was game on. We worked our way to a solid box and a great day on the water—lots of laughs and a crew that made it a blast. Only hiccup of the day… I somehow missed Scott pulling out a banana ?‍♂️?. Who does that?! Luckily, once the banana was gone, so was the bad luck—the monkey was officially off our backs! Awesome time with a great group. Looking forward to getting you guys back out again soon! #BlackH2oDogCharters #BlackH2oDog #LakeErieWalleye #WalleyeFishing #FishingCharter #LimitOut #GreatLakesFishing #BoatLife #FishingLife #OhioFishing #WalleyeNation #TrollingForWalleye #CharterFishing #BucketListFishing #MidwestFishing
